Interview and registers applicants to determine eligibility and legal entitlement of applicants for healthcare, including assignments to the appropriate enrollment priority group. Verifies eligibility using various methods, including:
income assessments, military discharge documents, hospital Inquiry (HINQ), Benefits Delivery Network (BDN), Veteran Information Solutions (VIS), and other means such as communication with VA Regional Office. Process electronic applications and/or determine eligibility. Utilize automated systems perform Health Benefit Assistant duties. Research information in order to appropriately advise individuals regarding benefits, eligibilities, financial obligations, co-pay requirements, and their rights to appeal. Process claims for hardships, catastrophic disability, beneficiary travel deductible waivers, and visit/co-pay waivers. Processes request for Veteran Health Identification Cards (VHIC). Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Knowledge of Business Office Programs and how they interrelate to various Health Care System services and programs; Regulations, Public Laws, Directives, and Policies regarding the care and treatment of patients and beneficiaries; and gathering information, interpreting and adapting guidelines for application to specific cases or problems. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
