Position Description:

We are looking for a motivated, talented individual interested in a manufacturing leadership role with significant growth opportunity to join our organization as a Manufacturing Specialist - Trainee in our Waco, TX Location.
JOB SUMMARY
Performs assignments in a manufacturing plant consistent with the outline of the Manufacturing Development Program. Assignments are intended to continue the development of the individual's experience, manufacturing knowledge, and supervisory skills associated with the production of glass container products. The scope of assignments will include utilizing educational background and initial training experience to further develop technical and manufacturing expertise, which will begin to contribute to the plant's performance. Assignments are designed to allow the individual to develop communication and interpersonal skills by working with managerial and production employees.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Has broad responsibility of improving overall production efficiencies through a combination of learning and applying technical duties related to glass container manufacturing. Provides technical assistance on a diverse range of operating problems to the production manager, machine and mold repair supervisor, line supervision, forming process specialist, job change coordinator, machine operators and other production personnel.
Monitors and evaluates production for quality, appearance, defects and equipment operation. Makes inspections of forehearth, feeders, machine set up, bottle handling equipment, lehr operations, etc. to maintain all equipment within good working range.
Works closely with batch and furnace, mold and machine repair, quality, inspection and provides technical advice and assistance on job changes and other process related issues.
Position Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
For the first 12-24 months you will work closely with a mentor in one of our U.S. manufacturing facilities.
Minimum of Associate degree in a technical discipline OR 1-3 years' experience in manufacturing
Strong communication, organization, planning and interpersonal skills
Must be highly analytical with a mechanical or technical background
Problem solving ability of highly complex mechanical / technical issues
Computer literacy and proficiency
An in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, machines, tools equipment, materials, etc.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to Tank Production Manager.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Some travel may be required within the North American region (up to 10%).
