SPEECH THERAPIST - PRN Job
Summary:
Develops effective treatment plans when appropriate.
Makes appropriate referrals to other speech-language facilities and to other professionals and agencies.
IMPLEMENTS SPEECH, LANGUAGE, OR SWALLOWING THERAPEUTIC PROGRAMS AND COUNSELS PATIENTS AND CAREGIVERS WHEN APPROPRIATE.
ASSESSES PATEINT PROGRESS AND EVALUATES THE EFFICACY OF THE TREATMENT PLAN TO ENSRUE APPROPRAITE TREATMENTS OR REVISIONS TO PLAN ARE IMPLEMENTED.
Monitors the patient''s progress with appropriate observations and tests.
Communicates in a clear and concise manner to all appropriate professionals, the patient, and his caregivers in a manner consistent with the format and time limits of the Speech-Language Pathology Section.
Participates in and prepares clear well-organized presentation for internal continuing education and external community education functions with content supervision by the Chief of Speech-Language Pathology Section.
PARTICIPATES IN ACTIVITIES TO ENSURE QUALITY SERVICES AND APPROPRIATE STANDARDS OF CARE AND PRODUCTIVITY IN ORDER THAT THE ENTIRE PROGRAM FUNCTIONS EFFECTIVELY AND EFFICIENTLY.
Supervises student diagnostics and therapy within areas of specialty under direction of the Chief of Speech-Language Pathology Section.
Assesses peer competency within specialty areas.
PERFORMS OTHER POSITION APPROPRIATE DUTIES AS REQUIRED IN A COMPETENT, PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS MANNER.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY:
American Speech-Language and Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required Must possess excellent interpersonal relation skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must demonstrate competency in assigned areas and advanced expertise in at least two clinical specialties consistent with ASHA.
Satisfactorily completes designated competency assessments and peer review.
Maintains continuing education applicable to core professional responsibilities and designated areas of competency.
Develops advanced expertise in two or more specialty areas.
BCLS is required in LTACh Departments.
