Overview:
The Information Technology Generalist is responsible for providing support to end users on a variety of issues:
identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems; responds to telephone calls, emails, and personnel requests for technical support; and, documents, tracks, and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
This position is also responsible for installing, modifying, and making minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users.
Primary Responsibilities/
Essential Functions:
Primary point of contact for IT support at the Waco, TX plant Configure and troubleshoot computers and iOS devices for:
new hires, as well as both on and off site employees.
May install, test, and troubleshoot specific software packages such as operating systems, office applications, and other programs for access to crucial systems.
Manage asset tracking and inventory for Waco, TX Complies with international IT Directive from parent company in Germany and responsible for ensuring employees are upholding these standards/policies.
Coordinates elevated system administration tasks with IT-Management in Germany Responds to current employee inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems.
Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and manuals.
Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems Coordinates projects and protocol implementation with IT-Management in Germany.
Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction Other duties as assigned - Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.

Education:
Preferred Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience in an Information Technology position
Experience:
Preferred 3 - 4 years of related experience in an Information Technology position such as Help Desk Support or equivalent role Competencies, Skills and Knowledge:
Required Using and configuring iOS/Windows 10 operating systems Microsoft Office 2013/2016 suite Basic networking knowledge of troubleshooting items such as connectivity problems in LAN / VPN areas.
Basic understanding of Windows server network services:
DHCP / DNS / Filesharing Knowledge of GoTo Meeting/Zoom video conferencing software, preferred VoIP system knowledge, preferred Ability to communicate technical knowledge effectively, in plain language.
