The Employment Specialist performs employment assistance and supported employment work.
Work involves evaluating individuals for work abilities, wants and needs, completing vocational assessments and developing work objectives and outcomes that promote maximum independence and employability, training individuals in appropriate work behavior, and providing support to assure that individuals being served maintain work once employed.
Position receives referrals from TWS-VRS as a provider of employment services.
Examples of Work Performed:
Evaluates abilities to determine limitations and assets an individual brings to an employment opportunity; Completes assessments and evaluations for individuals referred to EA or SE services; Develops and implements a system for providing job placement; Develops and maintains relationships with community employers, and creates/updates employer database; Prepares documentation and reports to ensure timely provision of services and progress toward employment outcomes, and to ensure accurate and comprehensive billing for employment services; Completes annual reports to distribute to IDT members for review, and serves as member of the individuals treatment team; Completes all reporting functions for TWC-VRS contract to assure timely payment for services; Maintains cooperative working relationship with staff and consumers.
Education and Experience High school diploma or GED 1 year of experience with IDD is required Background providing direct support services to people with disabilities is required Hours:
8AM-5PM M-FSalary:
$31,200 Annually/$15.
