Job Description:
PURPOSE:
The mission and purpose of the Community Matters Student Management Team, best known as the Resource Room Team is to offer excellent resources to the Community Leaders and Residence Hall Directors around campus.
We strive to inspire CLs to create a wonderful experience for residents by equipping them with the tools they need to succeed.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Student Managers:
The Student Manager works a total of 10 hours in the resource rooms and is responsible for maintaining an inventory of the resource room, fulfilling resource room material orders, and holding working hours in the resource room(s) throughout the week.
The Student Manager will be tasked with creating flyers and bulletin boards for Senior Coordinator initiatives stemming from the resource rooms.
This includes, flyers, posters, newsletters, etc.
CHARACTERISTICS AND
Qualifications:
Required Qualification:
Must have, completed at least one semester as a Baylor student.
Preferred Qualification:
Federal Work Study (FWS) eligible.
Preference given to students who currently reside on campus.
Student Managers are required to be professional, friendly, helpful, and proactive.
Student Managers must be in good standing at Baylor University.
A successful candidate for the Student Manager position will exhibit the following characteristics:
good time-management, creativity and innovation, the ability to both take initiative and take instruction, organizational/administrative skills, good communication skills, adaptability, ability to collaborate well with others, a value for the on-campus living experience, commitment to continued personal learning and growth, and awareness of Baylor, Waco, and the global community.
Failure to comply with or adhere to Baylor University policies, Campus Living & Learning policies, or state/federal laws could result in immediate loss of position.
WORKING HOURS:
While there are certain preferences (Examples:
working Sunday through Thursday; starting at 4:
00 PM and having an ending shift each day at 10:
30 PM), the Student Manager position has flexible hours.
WORKING LOCATIONS:
East Village Resource Room:
East Village is used primarily by CLs in Teal and Earle, but is visited frequently by CLs all over campus.
Student Manager shifts typically ran from 4:
00 pm to 10:
30 pm.
Collins Resource Room:
Collins is used primarily by the Collins CLs and the neighboring residence halls, but is also used by CLs all over campus.
Collins is staffed an hour every day by the Student Managers and a few hours a week by the Student Specialist.
SUPERVISION OF STUDENT MANAGER AND STUDENT SPECIALIST:
The Resource Room Student Managers are directly supervised by Senior Coordinator, Coleman Sulak.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
